Kofi's Choice
Ineffectual Bureaucrat, Kofi AnnanPressure is finally growing for incompetent UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to resign for the way he let Saddam (and Mr. Annan's son Kojo!) skim money hand-over-fist off the so-called Oil For Food program.

Except for the occasional Dag Hammarskjöld though, we generally select ineffectual bureaucrats for this post on purpose so the major powers can manipulate them when necessary. Not surprisingly, Mr. Annan is strongly supported by his fellow ineffectual bureaucrats.

The only downside from this is there's an outside chance we may have to deal with Mr. Bill Clinton as the next Secretary-General. There's no end of the mischief he might get into. But at least he already lives in New York, so the commute won't be too bad.
